Last night we went to a fundraiser for an organization called Kidmia. My brother-in-law's sister and her husband started the process a couple of years ago to adopt a baby girl from Rawanda. Soon after the process began, international adoptions in Rawanda got temporarily put on hold so Amie and David switched their adoption to Ethiopia. Becoming more familiar with the conditions of the country and the number of orphans {more than five million} Amie and David felt the Lord was calling them to get more involved. They found out about the organization Kidmia and now serve diligently for them. It was a great night and I hope they were able to raise a significant amount of money to give back because Kidmia is doing great things in Ethiopia.

I copied this description of their purpose and vision from their website www.kidmia.org ..
/templates/photos/kids.jpgOur vision is to see orphaned and vulnerable children released from physical, economic, and spiritual poverty, reach their highest and fullest potential, be reunited or placed with a gospel-loving Ethiopian family, become constructive and productive citizens of their country, and enjoy life in all its fullness.

Kidmia fulfills this vision through the provision of comprehensive and holistic care and support that brings God-honoring, lasting, and holistic change to the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are motivated by God’s love to serve all children regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.

Thank you so much Audrey and Jason for inviting us! We were so glad to be there and truly enjoyed getting to learn more about this incredible work.

Happy Wednesday!!

An InstaSunday

it started with some delicious French press coffee and an egg sandwich on the porch at one of our favorite brunch spots

then a chat with grandparents on the way to the golf store

where I swear RT could spend all day. It's like me in a clothing store. He just wants to make sure he sees everything

followed by some driving around in our neighborhood looking at houses we would love to buy .. some day

until I started feeling icky and we went home and lounged in comfies {mine consisted of one of RT's tshirts and a pair of his boxers .. by far my sexiest look .. NOT!} with the dogs.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Gros Chat

Dress: Rory Beca Vest: My Tribe Wedges: Steve Madden

I have had this dress for several years now and it continues to be one of my favorites. Every spring and summer this red, orange and yellow tie dye just seems to speak to my soul. Paired with a FABULOUS black leather vest and some leopard wedges for a little edginess. Cute right?!?

Hair .. A Product Review

My hair is naturally curly. If I let it dry natural with just a little bit of product run through it, it looks like this ..

But I very rarely wear it that way. Honestly, as weird as this sounds, it's too much maintenance. You see .. I don't wash my hair very often. Once maybe twice a week. Call me crazy but my hair it too dry, it would turn to strait straw if I washed it everyday so .. I don't. Anyway to wear it curly I would have to wet it and run product through it every morning and blah blah blah and I don't want to do that.

I am a night showers person. I wash my hair and dry it upside down with a paddle brush. Then I go to sleep and until the next time I wash it, all I do is run a brush through it when I wake up. So this is what my hair looks like most of the time ..

On the last day or two before my next wash I have to spot treat the places that get a little too oily. Mainly through the front and the top because i run my hands through my hair all the time. I use baby powder. I just put it in my hands first and then feather it through the front and top of my hair. But the other day I was reading one of my favorite blogs, the daybook blog, and Sydney had posted a hair tutorial and she really likes suave dry shampoo. Feeling inspired, yesterday at the store I went in search of it. I found it for pretty cheap {it cost about $3} and I tried it out this morning. I gotta tell you .. Sydney is absolutely right. It works really well and smells awesome and doesn't leave your hair feeling icky and weird.

What I'm trying to tell you is that if you are in the market for some dry shampoo .. Suave is the way to go.

Happy Monday!
