Nature Calls

Dress: Madison Marcus
Wedges: Steve Madden
Necklace: Anthropologie
I don't know if I have already said this or not but I am really loving dresses and skirts for this season. Normally I am a jeans girl all the way but I have been choosing dresses and skirts a lot lately. I mean let's not get crazy, I am still a loyal denim lover but it's a nice little change. This dress is so cute a feminine. I love the swiss dot layered over the lace. This little white number is elegant and springy ... love!

Tie Die For

Dress: Mossimo
Top: Sparkle and Fade
Wedges: Steve Madden
Ryan and I spent an entire Sunday shopping last weekend and I found this top and these wedges (plus a few other things ha!). I am lucky to have a husband who will take me shopping for an entire day and be honestly happy to do it. He likes to shop too and we got him some stuff but he has such a good attitude even in the stores where there is no guy's stuff for him to look at.

Rompin in Roses

Romper: AKA New York
Wedges: Steve Madden
Every now and then something will come in style that I just can not get on board with ... at first :) . Skinny pants were like that for me. I tend to be bigger on the bottom half so when skin tight bottoms came into style I could not even imagine how that would look on my body.
I felt that way about flowy unstructured tops too. Now, 9 days out of 10 I am in skinny bottoms and a flowy top.
My mom owns and operates a preschool and has for my entire life and I have grown up watching rompers run around on the play ground. So you can imagine that when they came back in a few seasons ago I swore up and down that I would NEVER be caught dead in a onesie that was meant for a toddler. Clearly I have changed my mind. I actually own several rompers and I really like them. This one especially just because I love the pop of the bright floral print against the black background.

Laced Up

Shirt: BB Dakota
Shorts: Free People
Wedges: Charles David
Lace is ultra feminine and romantic. Obviously all of the cuts have been modernized but that is part of what I love about the longer hemline on skirts and all of the lace and floral that is fashionable for this spring and summer. Wearing those pieces, you just can't help but feeling girly girly girly.
This lace is particularly easy simply because it is a close pattern so all you really need under it is a bandeau. Unless of course you are headed to work. In that case I always wear a full length cami. Ha!

In the Yard with the Dogs

Shirt: Piko 1988
Bandeau: Fredericks of Hollywood
Shorts: Blank
Heels: Christian Louboutin
I am sure this it's hugely apparent but our dogs are a huge part of our lives. We are still newly married (it has been close to a year now. I can't believe it) and so our dogs are more like our children than our pets. Really easy children that can go in their kennels when we want to go out or something. Its perfect!
Layla, the chihuahua, was my little love that I got when I moved out on my own in college. She literally goes everywhere with me. I take her to work and the whole nine yards.
Zoey, the golden retriever/sheltie mix, we just adopted about six months ago. She stays at home during the day but when we are home she spends her time right under our feet.
They are such loves and they truly make our lives fuller and happier.
On friday I came home from work and had been gone for 8 hours and Zoey was gone. We usually just leave her in the back yard so that she doesn't have to be in her kennel for that long. I was completely devastated! I went around to all of the neighbors and nobody had seen her. Ryan and I drove around separately for hours calling and looking for her with no luck. Finally I realized I just needed to go home and hope she came back. About 11:30 that night I was on the phone with my sister and she said "maybe you should leave her food bowl on the front porch so that if she comes home in the middle of the night she might be more inclined to stay" I thought that was pretty smart so I got the pillow she likes to lay on and her food bowl and was going to put them on the front porch. When I opened the door she came running in. I had paced from the front door to the back door at least 25 times and she was not there but somehow she found her way back home. Thank goodness!! She is safe and unharmed minus the fact that her feet are really sore from running around all day. She has a little limp but I am calling that punishment. I told Ryan though, never again will I leave her out.
Drama! Drama! Drama!

Limb for Limb

Dress: Maggie Ward
Wedges: Jessica Simpson
Necklace: Anthropologie
I am really glad that long dresses have stayed in style. It is so easy to throw on a long dress and wedges without even really thinking about it and still look completely put together. Simple and comfortable. Love it!

Sunset Dreams

Dress: Rory Beca
Wedges: Jeffrey Campbell
Belt: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Street Vendor in Greece
Honestly I am using an excuse at all to wear these blue wedges. They are a major obsession for me right now and I am feeling the need for some other bright colored shoe options so that these don't get worn out too quickly.
This dress is a couple of years old and it continues to surprise me. Ryan and I live in a little old house with very minimal storage so during the summer my winter clothes go in bins under the bed and vice versa. Both times I have pulled this dress out of the "summer" bins when the weather turns warm I love it all over again.

The below the knee skirt reminds me of classic old hollywood starlets. Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe. Yes Please!! Such a flattering and ultra feminine length for all shapes and sizes. What more could a girl ask for?
